Commis de Rang

1 General scope of tasks, objective
The Commis de Rang guarantees high-quality service and flawless guest care. He is responsible for serving and removing food and/or beverages.

2 Main tasks/Main responsibility
– Collaboration at a service station, support of the Chef de Rang
– Implementation of service processes, incl. HACCP
– Carrying out cleaning work (clearing and cleaning tables, bringing cutlery and glasses to the cleaning station)
– Leaving the station in an orderly, impeccable condition
– Depending on the operation, the station can be managed independently

3 Competencies

• You have basic knowledge of the German or French language, depending on the canton of work. In addition, you have basic knowledge of the Italian language.
• You have knowledge of food preparation and hygiene regulations as well as knowledge in the field of gastronomy and wine expertise.
