Summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to the Funky Claude's Bar Supervisor, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Constantly offer professional, pleasant, and engaging service
• Serve customers according to their expectations and Fairmont standards
• Be responsible for the proper execution of setups and the preparation of their sector
• Serve food and beverage orders to the table
• Have perfect knowledge of the beverage, cocktail, whisky, and wine menu and suggest to the customer
• Have perfect knowledge of the food menu and know how to advise the customer
• Prepare cutlery according to orders, fetch food from the kitchen and clear tables in their sector
• Participate in creating the Funky atmosphere at the Bar
• Participate in themed evenings and participate in the entertainment
• Create customer relationships
• Perfect technical and theoretical knowledge in order to ensure perfect service for a demanding clientele
• Know the technical and emotional standards of LQA and put them into practice
• Know the concept of the Funky Claude-s Bar
• Use the "Silverware" cash system and place food and beverage orders
• Ensure opening and closing tasks of the bar alternatively with work colleagues
• Communicate problems or anomalies to their supervisor
• Participate in training offered in catering
• Participate in the service of banquets and events taking place at the hotel, upon request
• Commit to the quality of their service, their discretion, and their perfect honesty
• Have a professional attitude, be smiling, and maintain calm at all times
• Show flexibility and cooperation in all circumstances, particularly if required to work in another department on a punctual basis
• Respect ergonomic work standards in health & safety regulations, hygiene and sanitary prescriptions
• Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and the company
• All other tasks, as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in bar/restaurant service
• Previous experience in a 4* or 5* hotel is an asset
• Mastery of the French language
• Excellent knowledge of the English language
• Diploma in service recognized is an asset
• Knowledge of cocktails is an asset
• Knowledge of the Silverware system is an asset
• Competitive spirit for sales
• Knowledge of a third language is an asset
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work at night
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to concentrate attention on customer needs, while remaining calm and courteous at all times
