Kitchen Workshop Manager

Job Description ##

In order to strengthen the current team, we are looking for, for a fixed term of three months, a kitchen workshop manager.

In your capacity as kitchen workshop manager within the prison de la Tuilière, you will strengthen the team in place and accompany the female detainees in their daily work. You will transmit your professional knowledge to them, allowing them to develop new skills and thus participating in favoring their reintegration.

Through your commitment, you contribute to the protection of the population by ensuring the supervision and monitoring of detainees. You act at all times in respect of our values: "Loyalty, Solidarity, Credibility".

Responsibilities ##

• Train and supervise detainees in kitchen workshop activities in order to allow the acquisition of new social and professional skills.
• Ensure the preparation of the two meal services for detainees and employees while guaranteeing hygiene and safety standards as well as the maintenance and proper functioning of equipment.
• Ensure the security and supervision of detainees working in the kitchen, ensuring the maintenance of discipline.
• Establish behavior reports and reports on the progress of the supervised persons.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from the different sectors of the establishment (social, security, professional, etc.) in order to ensure adequate care for detainees.

Fixed-term employment contract of 3 months, potentially renewable.

Qualifications ##

• CFC as a cook, baker, pastry chef or other title deemed equivalent
• Holder of the federal certificate of detention officer or a commitment to obtain it
• Strong interest in the care of female detainees
• Ability to manage teams
• Comfortable in human contact, empathy and sense of communication and negotiation
• Good mental and physical aptitudes allowing for the management of sometimes difficult situations or conflicts while maintaining a distance adapted to your function
• Ability to manage stress
• Sense of observation, analysis and synthesis
• Mastery of usual IT tools

Our employment conditions require that you are Swiss or a holder of a permit C, free of debt enforcement (an extract from the Office des poursuites must be presented during the process), and your criminal record must be clean. There is a right to consult the criminal record in application of the Federal Act on Criminal Records by the hiring authority for this function.
